  • I get me chiffon for pettiskirts here

    https://www.afc-express.com/chiffon-amp-organdy-fabrics.html

nylon chiffon. I don't really know of any other place. I haven't really looked!

  • THANK YOU!!! That is almost exactly what I was looking for. You are awesome :)

  • They have great customer service but really over charge for shipping!

Either way it ended up still being about $1 cheaper a yard than anywhere else I looked!

have fun. I am up to my ears in chiffon.

  • Good to know...be honest though & I think you have seen the dresses I have made....how hard is it going to be to take on a petti with all the pinning & fabric...over my head???

  • They are very time consuming. Emilia is getting an orchid one for her bday!

The girl that works for me for some reason is a freaking PRO at them and makes it look easy.

It takes me 2 hours. It takes her an hour.

We start at the bottom and work up to the waist band. I think that is easier. We also have rufflers on our sergers which cuts the time in half.

  • Aw $hit....I have a feeling I will hate sewing after attempting that. How much do you charge for one :)

  • pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft...

I do as little of them as possible.

    Have you tried etsy?

We sell them for $80 in stores. We usually only do them if we are slow.

  • Understandable!

?I just can't figure out how much to order for a 2T with contrasting ruffle. It is making my head hurt.

  • DD is short legged so I order 6-7 yards. I make the ruffle extra fluffy. It hits her mid calf (she is a 2/3)

I use 1/4 yard of satin charmeuse for the waist.

  • crap...forgot.

Honestly if I actually had the time to that it takes to do them it wouldn't be so hard.

I think that if you just took your time it would be no problem.

I plan to make a ton of them after the spring collection launch is over..but until then I will have to stick to 20 minutes of working on Emilia's 3x a week.
