How long does your pedi appt take?

For a well baby visit, not an emergency one.

Each visit has taken us an hour, with only about twenty minutes of that time actually spent with the doctor.  It seems excessive to me.

Re: How long does your pedi appt take?

  • About 45 minutes is the norm for our appointments.  I usually only have to wait in the actual waiting room no more than 10-15 minutes.  Then I wait about 5-10 for the actual doctor to get in.

  • Too darned long at our pedi.  About 15 minutes in the waiting room - usually 30 or so minutes in the exam room, but it has been 2 hours before, then 10 or so minutes with the doctor.  Then waiting for the nurse for shots or whatever.  I usually budget in about 3-4 hours.

    It sucks.

  • 30 minutes to one hour.  The one hour appointment was for her shots, but that appt we spent a lot of waiting around.

They schedule well baby as the first appt of the day, so that usually makes the waiting minimal.

  • about 30 minutes

5 minutes in waiting room, 5 minutes in exam room, 5 minutes with nurse in exam room, 10-15 minutes with doc in exam room, 2 minutes for shots in exam room

I love our pedi's office - it is always quick and easy.

  • Probably about 1-1.5 hours total from getting there to leaving. I never feel like we wait very long in the waiting room except for one time but between the nurse first, then the dr, and then the nurse again for shots in can take a bit.

  • About 30 minutes.  I never wait to get into an exam room and rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes or the doctor.  That said, I always schedule one of the first appts of the day so there isn't a backlog.  It's about 20 with the pedi herself.
  • About 45 minutes -- 5 in waiting room, 5 in exam waiting, 30 with doctor, another 5 minutes to wait for the nurse and for shots.
  • 30-45 min...  Usually the only waiting we do is on the nurse for the shots..  We always see the doctor rather quickly..  Once it took an hour, but it was a sick visit..
  • at my old pedi, we would wait an hour for our appt and then 15 mins for the doctor to spend about 10 with her.

new doctor, i never wait more than 10 mins in teh waiting room or to see the dcotor amd the amount of time we spend with her depends largely on us.

The same as you....we usually wait a good 45 minutes before we see the dr. and then are in there for about 20 - 30 minutes with her.

do you love your dr? I've got a great pedi, right off Westheimer and Med Center Drive (right before kirkwood). We never wait longer then 10 minutes in the waiting room, usually less then 10 in the exam room, and he's with us as long as we ask questions.  And they always squeeze us in right away if she's sick.
