wierd temp issues

So my DD has had an "elevated" temp for almost a month now! IThe wierd thing is she has no other symptoms and is eating, drinking, sleeping, and behaving very well. t's been running anywhere between 99.4- 100, and on 2 occasions in the past two weeks got up to 101.3. She recently had 2 ear infections (first one cleared up,than came back a week later), and was on 2 rounds of antibiotics. I've been to the doc several times. The last two times her ears were clear, and dr. said the fever was most likely to due a viral infections, even though she shows no other symptoms. I just feel like this has been going on too long to be a virus. Could it be teething? Or could she just run a little high? Also, I use a temporal thermometer, and tend to get very inconsistent readings (will read 100 the first time I take it, than 99.4 right after that). I'm going to call the dr again tomorrow.....

Re: wierd temp issues

  • Honestly, I don't know.  I absolutely gave up on my temporal thermometer because it seemed like I could never get an accurate reading.

Anyway, like you, my DD had a fever (spiked to 103.7 at one point) but NO other symptoms.  Doc did a urine analysis and it turns out it was a REALLY mild bladder infection.  She's on antibiotics now, but the fever still seems low-grade.  I don't know whether to be worried or chalk it up to that being just her temp or the stupid thermometer's fault or what....We went to rectal, but now it seems like she's always high.  Someone said rectal adds 1 degree, but I can't find any imperical truth of that.
