Helping Asphire

I was trying to think of something we could do as a group to help Asphire as she is recovering and taking care of her two beautiful babies.  Sara said that her work already has a dinner drop-off schedule set up through April but suggested us setting up a lunch schedule if anyone is interested.

If you're interested in providing a lunch for Amanda and Todd, email Sara at sara.streit@gmail.com and she'll put together a schedule and provide the details.

Thanks!

Megan

Re: Helping Asphire

  • Thanks Megan!!  It doesn't have to be dropped off at lunch.  There is already a cooler outside the house for us to drop off dinner.  Anything that she could easily snack on throughout the day would be perfect!

  • What area are they in?  I ask b/c I do want to help out, but I am in NKY and we are now a one car family so I'm not sure what I can do - how would this work?

Also, how long are Amanda & the babies expected to be in the hospital?

  • Amanda and Todd live just north of 275 & Reed Hartman Hwy.  I think it's Deerfield Twp, but I'm not positive.  I don't have the estimated time in the hospital right now, but I will update you as soon as I know more!
  • That's almost an hour from me but my DH is in that area regularly, so he would probably be willing to do a drop off.  I will email you.

  • They will be sooo appreciative!  It is a 40min drive from Ft. mitchell, just so others know approx. how long it would take.  I took them dinner on Sunday and put it in the cooler.  They really appreciate everything!

  • Maybe we NKY girls could arrange something where we all meet at one place/time and one of us could make the trip deliver the goods to their porch?

  • What about diapers or gift cards instead of food? It sounds like they will have plenty of food and left overs.

Or even thank you cards and stamps?  I'm sure they'll have a lot of people to send them out to.

  • I agree, I would love to help out in some way but I can't even manage to make dinner for my own family right now...LOL. I will think of something and then inquire about how to get it to them
  • It does seem like they will have alot of food. I like the diapers/wipes or gift cards idea. And the stamps with thank you cards is cute too.
  • Does someone want to take up a collection or should we buy diapers and drop them at one person's house for the delivery?
  • I can do whatever is needed. I like Amandas idea of having a NKY drop off too.
  • I wouldn't mind collecting the stuff and taking it up there.  I have to go back up in a few weeks and get my containers.  I do think they have a lot of food.  We each provided them with 1 week worth each week, LOL!
