Rash after starting applesauce?

DS has this patch of really rough skin going around his tummy. The only thing I can think of is that it is because of the applesauce (that was the only change recently). So we stopped giving him the applesauce, but the rash is still there. So we stopped the cereal for a little bit, to see if maybe that was it. No go. Sooo... wth is it? Anyone else had adverse reactions from food, and if so, how long did it take for them to go away? DS is now off of solids again >.<

    DS got a rash all over his trunk when he had applesauce.......we removed it from the diet and then he was better.....

    It sounds like it could be eczema.  Is it where the diaper is?  Have you tried putting diaper rash cream on it or Aquaphor?

    I would stop solids and treat it as you would a diaper rash. Once it goes away, you can decide if/when you want to try solids again. DS did this with Carrots and Peaches. We waited a month and tried each again with no problems.

    We have been putting Aquaphor on it. It is a bit higher up than the diaper area, like around his ribs almost. Damn applesauce >.< I guess that's what we will do, stop the solids for now and wait a bit.
