I'm doing one shot a month. Hasn't been an issue as I brestfeed while they give it and he doesn't even notice. That said, our next one is the DTaP and the P (Pertussis) is the one that causes them to feel so awful. I'm concerned about this one because most kids have a pretty nasty reaction to it and I will be up all night making sure he hasn't had a seizure or stopped breathing. That's the kind of stuff we sign off on every time we get them...that we understand the risks and we're ok with these things happening.
Nurse while they are giving the shots. It will help and if they tell you you can't, do it anyway. There's no medical reason not to. If they say choking is a hazard, it's not true. Milk cannot block an airway. My pedi is totally cool with it.
She cried and then slept for a really long time! She ran a fever the whole night but she was fine the next day. I went alone but made DH come to the 6 month appt.
Re: 2 Month Shots
She cried, I made DH go with me.
The rest of the day all we did was feed and snuggle. No play time, just sleepy snuggling on me.
So Tasty, So Yummy

i have done all of her checkups alone. dh has taken her once by himself when she had a bad cold.
