If you're delivering at Overlake...

And love your doctor, I'd love to know who they are. As long as everything stays low risk I'll be having this baby at the Eastside Birth Center in Bellevue, just down the street from Overlake. I'd really like to have a "backup" that is based out of Overlake just in case there are problems though. My midwife has not had good experiences at Overlake when they have had to transfer people and I'd really like to NOT have to just take whomever is there if that situation comes up. So... Who is your doctor and why do you love them?

Please forgive me if this has been posted before (I'm sure it has). I looked back 24 hours and didn't see anything. I'll go back further, but I figured I'd toss this up first.

I really liked Dr. Keely Brown at Bell Grove OB-GYN.  She wasn't my OB throughout (she replaced him when he retired) but she did assist at my c-section and provide follow-up and do my IUD.  I like her becasue she's calm and non-alarmist. I saw too many high strung doctors who did nothing but make me nervous.  I also saw Dr. Anton in that practice during an emergency L&D visit at 30 weeks and she was great.

I had a high risk pregnancy so what I needed and kept me happy might be different form what you need.

Does the birth center only transfer to Overlake?  Maybe you could talk to your midwife about the likelihood of you needing a transfer...

I have Dr. Haines at Overlake OB-GYN. ?He's wonderful.

I haven't delivered yet, but I see Dr. Heather Moore at Bellegrove OBGYN (same office as pp). I really like Dr. Moore and have heard great things about the other doctors in the practice as well.

Dr Anton is my OB and I love her. Dr Moore actually delivered DD and I liked her too

I just delivered and used Dr. Ann Kolwitz from Overlake OBYN.  She may come off as a business only sort of doctor but she definitely gets things done very well and in good timing.  She will do whatever you request even if you want a natural birth, which is what I opted for and did.  During my scare of high blood pressure I learned that she also does not believe in taking a ton of medication like my perinatologist wanted me to do.  I recommend her if you don't mind that she's not really into too much small talk but she is thorough and reassures you that everything will be fine.  During high stressful times she is always calm and collective which is definitely needed.  She also won't put you through anything she really doesn't think you need to go through.
