Has anyone used either of these strollers in the past? Does anyone have a preferance, if so why? Im trying to decide which one to get. I was completely sold on the Stokke until I went into Babystyle yesterday and saw the Orbit.
Has anyone found anything better?
Re: Orbit Stroller VS. Stokke Stroller
The Stokke Xplory stroller is a ridiculous abomination of overpriced, trendy consumerism. Its heavy, it's hard to break down, there's no practical storage, and it's HUGE!
I'm in agreement with MBNB in that the UppaBaby is a great choice. We are also in NYC and went with the Bumbleride Flyer. Both work well for the urban mum.
DH and I are probably getting the Orbit. I actually first saw it on the streets of NYC. I like the fact that it surrounds the baby, it gets great ratings.
I definitely don't want any stroller that requires removing the baby from the car seat when I take him/her out of the car and put them in the stroller.
I love how easy the baby carrier is to get out of the car and put on the stroller base. I have back problems, and the twist method of getting the carseat out is awesome. I travel a lot and the car base seemed very secure and easy to install.
They have a new feature as well... panniers! I can't wait to go to the farmers market with it.
I LOVED the ORBIT..... it made me re-think things but I held back and decide to put that money elsewhere.
in Baby Bargains the orbit got good reviews besides the price, the stokke didn't get good reviews.
I have seen the UPPAbaby in person and if I had unlimited funds I would buy that one in a heart beat. Esp. since the 2009 will have an additional toddler/rumble seat child adaptor so you can use it for two children. The baby sits high, the seat adjustment is very easy. Plus it comes with carry cot and that is usually extra for Bugaboo-ish strollers. JMO.
I haven't seen the UPPAbaby Vista, but it looks pretty light, which is nice. The major deterrent for me, would be the need to remove/wake the infant from the carseat, in order to place them into the stroller.
Would you have to purchase a seperate carseat? Then the price would be similar to that of the orbit.
