this thought really never crossed my mind- not a top priority for me i guess
i wouldn't attempt it only cause you can get tan from natural sunlight and it prob has better nutrients for the baby than artificial rays- ya know? i would assume as long as you don't get too hot, it would be ok? but check with your doc if you really wanna go for it
Funny you ask. I just called my dr yesterday and asked this question b/c we are leaving for Mexico in a month. My dr said he didn't recommend it especially this early in the pregnancy. I'm going to have to get a spray tan b/c I'm pastey white as hell.
I have stopped tanning since before my BFP but I did read that it isn't so much the rays from the tanning bed that hurt the baby it's the heat. It's not good to get too hot and those beds get super hot!
I have definitely thought about it but would be afraid of getting too warm... maybe if they were using beds that weren't completely closed with lots of fans on them?

Why would you even on consider it. You know, I am pale white...so what. At least I do not have skin cancer and not wanting to risk anything for the baby.
It is January! Who gets a tan in the winter? not like you can show it off anyways...
Not than I plan on tanning (I wish!! LOL), but I'd be interested in what other's doctors have said.
I'm not really replying to what you said, but I wanted to say how cool it is that our kids are going to be about the same distance apart! How are you holding up?
I'm excited they will be so close, but I know I'm going to have my hands full.
I havent asked my doc since I dont tan anyway, but I have read its not good as it can raise your body temp too high. Besides, I dont know about anyone else, but pregnancy is drying out my skin enough without tanning making it worse.
Re: Has anyone had the ok to Tan?
I never asked but I thought it was a no-no...

I never asked my doctor specifically, but the packet of paperwork they gave me says in it not to tan.
There's a girl over in I think 2nd or 3rd tri that got an ok from her dr.

Ditto.

Ditto. I try to avoid cancer if I can do anything about it.
