How to Mimic Nutrisystem Without the High Cost: Try the Nutrisystem Diet Program by Yourself

I started the programmed diet called Nutrisystem but was unhappy with a few aspects and wanted to try and change some elements of the food to suit my own palate. I found that it is possible to obtain similar
"); //]]>--> -->
window.google_render_ad();
foods from the grocery store in a more inexpensive manner than the high costs of Nutri-system online. Many types of product guides are for sale on Ebay or through the mail to do this. But it just takes some common sense.

Nutrisystem by repuation was effective but expensive, and after I started I could see why. But the real reason I started trying to complement "real" meals with the Nutrisystem packaged ones was that I missed freshness. Nutri-system meals can seem heavy even in small amounts. I notcied that due to stomach discomfort I was avoiding exercise times because i felt too uncomfortable to work out.

For the diet Nutrisystem packaged foods are designed to have large amounts of protein and fiber and salt. I found this was countereffective for myself personally for weight loss. I realized I had mint chocolate crip bars lying in the refrigerator because i feared the tummy rumbles they would cause. Certain dinner meals i could expect to have a bloated period where my system recovered from the soy additives inside.

Before long I had to admit I wasn't really participating in the diet anymore at all. I did like being able to talk to other dieters and read their recipe advice and frustrations about losing weight. I did reduce the amount of total calories I consumed over time. But if I was eating the equivalent of a can of Pringles in sodium a day, I'd rather have the potato chips. So here is some advice for combining the benefits of a Nutri-system diet plan with a chance for it to survive in the "real world".

THIS IS ONLY PART OF THE ARTICLE - GO TO THE WEBSITE FOR THE FULL INFO.  If this cycle doesn't work, I only have ONE cycle left.  If that doesn't work, I will be doing this diet....probably combined with the ALLI I heard so much about.

Wish me luck this will WORK!

TIA!

PS: I hate pasting things on here all the hidden HTML just causes too much problems!!!...xo

  • EDIT: FYI:

    NutriSystem
    image Review Summary
NutriSystem NutriSystem is a company that offers a weight loss program delivered right to customers? doorsteps. The deliveries include a breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and two snacks for each of twenty-eight days. The meals are based on a low Glycemic Index formula and are also low fat. Additionally, the NutriSystem program offers counseling and support to its members. The downfall is that the food is NOT fresh and packaged. In order to get quality vegetables people need to add ingredients to their NutriSystem servings. So this is not the healthiest meal plan available, although it is based on portion control which is a solid way to lose weight.

    image Ingredients At A Glance
Customers have the option of selecting their own meals from a list provided by NutriSystem or to sign up for the pre-selected menu that features a variety of the available meals. In the standard NutriSystem Nourish Plan there is currently more than twenty breakfast options, more than thirty lunch choices, close to forty dinner choices and almost thirty dessert and snack options. All the meals are designed to incorporate good carbohydrates with the proper proportion of fats and proteins to maintain steady blood sugar levels, which is good because high insulin levels can contribute to the body storing fat. The meals are also low in fat. Foods that rate low on the Glycemic Index are Nutrisystem?s secret to providing a balanced diet.

A lot of the Nutrisystem customers complain that the program moves quite slowly on the weight loss side. There is nothing recommended or supplied by NutriSystem that helps to control your appetite, increases the rate at which you burn calories, or helps tone your body. In order to accelerate this relatively slow but steady meal plan, we would recommend investigation some well respected weight loss products to use in conjunction with NutriSystem. Click here for a list of popular products that have all been winners of our prestigious Sensational Reader?s Poll Award.

    image Cost
The standard NutriSystem Nourish Plan consists of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts, and snacks for twenty-eight days. The cost of this plan is $326.72, plus $16.00 in shipping and handling. Currently, there is an offer that allows first time customers to receive one-week of free food, bringing the total order to five weeks worth of food. If customers elect to sign up for the Auto-Delivery program, they can save 10%, bringing the total to $293.72. Not only is shipping free with the Auto-Delivery program, but after three deliveries, the discount increases to 15%. There is a 30-day money back guarantee available for any product that can be shipped back to the company. Bill Me Later is a way to finance payment and it has an annual percentage rate of 19.99%. Customer support services are free.

The prices are fair for what you get, although like we said ? this is 100% packaged food and none of it is fresh. Fresh meal plans like Chefs Diet are about $1200, which most can?t afford. Although the benefit is that all the food is 100% fresh and healthy. A program like Chef?s Diet delivers your food every day in order to preserve the freshness.

    image Website In Focus
The NutriSystem website contains a very thorough description of how they use the Glycemic Index to create meals that will help customers to lose weight. It is possible to view all the meal options, from a picture of each to its complete nutritional value. There are multiple success stories available, from both men and women. There are multiple online services offered to customers free of charge, from unlimited counseling and support, online classes, an online newsletter, a bulletin board and chat rooms, and online weight loss and fitness diaries. The company can be contacted through multiple email addresses, a toll-free phone number, and local phone and fax numbers.

Obviously this is a real company and there are no hidden costs.

    image Positives
? There are a nice variety of meal options, including many pastas and chocolate items.
? There are new items added to the menu choices fairly frequently.
? All of the daily meal plans contain less than the daily recommended amounts of sodium.

    image Negatives
? Although some of their customers give them a thumbs up, a lot give them a thumbs down because of the slow weight loss. Click here to read a large NutriSystem blog to see what their customers say.
? A month?s supply of packaged food is a substantial amount of processed foods and it doesn?t include all the fresh fruits, vegetables, and dairy that must still be purchased on your own.
? There is no information available online about how much extra food must be purchased fresh each month.
? The customers? success stories are marked with the caveat that the results are not typical and the storytellers may be receiving payment.
? The percentage rate on financing the cost of the program is quite high.
? The portions of the meals are definitely small, for instance, the Spinach and Cheese Ravioli with Meat Sauce consists of only two raviolis.

    image Final Thoughts
This is a program which offers customers the convenience of doorstep delivery with meals which are based on a low Glycemic Index. Although you need to still go shopping to get your own fruits, veggies and dairy. There are a large variety of meals to choose from, but how filling and/or tasty they are remains to be seen, since the paid testimony of others is not the most reliable indicator. However, the plan is based on sound principles and it does offer free support to help clients stay on track and reach their diet goals.

The main problem is that the packaged food is NOT nutritious and the weight loss (although steady) is slow-going. In order to get quick and noticeable results, which most people want from their diet, be sure and incorporate exercise. Additionally ? we would recommend a good weight loss pill like Nuphedrine, Slim10 or HoodiaP57 to really give you solid results. You might also like Slim Shot Diet in conjunction with NutriSystem because it helps people want to drink more water.

    Nutrisystem Diet

    -->

Nutrisystem is a portion-controlled diet plan from online weight loss company Nutrisystem. Nutrisystem began in a similar way to Jenny Craig (with bricks-and-mortar weight loss centers), but a few years ago they became internet-only (sometimes incorrectly called nutra system)

    Diet Options

The Nutrisystem Nourish program is based on the Glycemic Index. Carbohydrates on the diet are generally low glycemic. A typical day would include 3 meals and 2 snacks. The food is available directly from NutriSystem (via their web site), who ship the food directly to the customer. There are options for men, women, and vegetarians.

The idea is to restrict the diet to accurate portions based around the persons required calorie count. Food can selected from a pre-made menu, or you can select individual food items. The typical meal plan cycle is 28 days.

Like most packaged weight loss programs, they are useful for short term controlled weight loss. However many people will not continuing buying foods like this for the rest of their life, and will have to ?wean off? the program.

However, considering that a significant contributor to obesity is growing portion size, Nutrisystem can be very helpful for some people.

Nutrisystem have a current offer of one weeks free food (with an online order)

    NutriSystem Program

The NutriSystem program does provide more than a diet. A weight loss counselor is available via online chat (there is apparently no charge for this service). They also provide more information regarding exercise and building a healthy mind.

I lost over 50lbs on NutriSystem. The food was not horrible at the time, but it is hard to maintain that weight loss once I was off the program (like any diet I guess). I would recommend it for anyone who does not have time to prepare healthy meals for themselves. I tried to restart the program after I gained some weight back though, and I couldnt bring myself to eat the food again. It wasnt bad then, but it does get expensive so I?m trying to go the cheaper route.

Eat all the green vegtables and red meat you can. Then add store bought frozen meals and create your own diet. It is cheap and healthy. I did it and lost 32 lbs the first month!

I lost over 90 pounds on Nutrisystem in less than a year. It?s simple- it works if you do it. If you let the food sit in the box in a closet- it?s not going to work. If you don?t like a certain meal, don?t order it next time. It?s not rocket science, and no one ever said that dieting was enjoyable!

I am on my second week of NutriSystem and I have to say most of the food is horrible. I have had a few good things, but overall I will not purchase another month of food. I think Jenny Craig has much better tasting food, though both programs aren?t cheap.

First of all..the food is not packed high with sodium. It is very low in sodium. You need to eat more dairy if you are having feeling stinky. Second, if you don?t like the food?don?t eat it. Do something that works for you. Nutrisystem has worked for a lot of people because it is showing healthy food choices and portions. Many people enjoy the food! Including myself. Of course nurtrisystem is not a ?life long? diet?you have to teach yourself how to eat. Americans are so used to eating gigantic portions that you get upset when the right amount is offered to you. Be fat or not?the choice is yours - whether it is nutrisystem or not - you should compliment those who are trying to do something about their weight.

it was my time of the month, and i was feeling very hungry.. i had to eat 6 of these meals to finally get full.. such a disappointment.. after i ate these nasty meals i got very bad cramps.. i havent lost any weight at all. is it because i eat to many of the meals at one time? Its not my fault im addicted to food.

This is the ONLY diet that has EVER worked for me. Yes, some of the foods are ?yucky?, but I just didn?t order them the next time. And like Jane said, it?s just a matter of translating store bought food to the same idea. I have ?cheated? a few times and am still losing an average of 3 pounds a week. This is the first diet that I am never, and I mean NEVER hungry. Sure it?s expensive, but my health (not being obese) is worth it. Staying on it long term is not an option because of the high sodium content, but it really has ?taught? me how to eat right! And eating fruits and vegetables is not considered unhealthy! Only 15 more pounds to go!

Some of the food is really good, and some I?m not so much a fan of. But the beauty of this diet is that you CHOOSE your food. So if you don?t like something one time, you can avoid ordering it next time. My issue with this diet is that it?s so very expensive. :/

Not to be gross, but the food made me very stinky to say it kindly. I think that it is highly process with loads of sodium and who knows what else. I think it may help some people lose weight initially, but I don?t think it is healty to stay on it for more that a few months. It does not offer a life long solution, and I think in the end people may wind up fatter than when they started this yo-yo diet.

    July 16th, 2008

This is the only diet that has worked for me. I work long hours and don?t feel like cooking when I get home or preparing lunches for work. There are a lot of foods that are pretty good (chili, ham and beans soup, good snacks) what do expect, it?s a diet and it works if you follow it. It?s not that difficult to translate into store bought food if you take the time to do it. High energy, reasonable quick weight loss, agreed with my system, lots of fiber. It worked for me, years ago and now.

I don?t think this plan actually works.
From what I hear the food is horrible and the most
poundage you lose is about 2 pounds. This sounds
more like a publicity stunt then a diet.

I?ve been on nutrisystem twice. The first time I lost 35 lbs, then I had a baby, now I?m working on the second time through. The food has greatly improved since last time I was on it. I also tried the vegetarian route but got quite bored with it since there isn?t much variety yet and it also gave me stomach cramps. Since I started the regular womens program a week ago along with walking at least a half hour every day and i have already lost 5 lbs!
