are these prefolds too thin?

As GMD is out of orange edge prefolds until after my due date, I went off in search of another site. I did, but made the mistake of not comparing them. These are 2-6-2s, so the outer sides are just the two layers of outer cloth. The pictures are of prepped diapers and they look fluffier.

I emailed the place about returns and they'll be very easy, but they commented that they carry this type for newborns (and use them for their local diaper service)  because of the frequency of newborn changes.

I have some snugglebottoms that i need to prep (was planning on prepping everything together tomorrow) so I might try boiling one of them to see how they turn out. They just seem a ton thinner than even the gerber ones!! 

Oh, and if you have recs for where else to buy orange edged ones from I would appreciate it!

  I have some barely use orange edges I coudl sell you other than that I don't know where you could get them.  Sorry that isn't much help : (

I love my gmd's but I would probably agree with the guy that a 2-6-2 is sufficient for a newborn. I was in disposables at that time and I was still changing ds close to 20x a day. They're not in the diapers long enough to really saturate them. They poop a lot early on and you'll second guess and change them a ton too. Plus they grow really fast and will be moving up sizes faster than you know it!

I do love my gmd's though - not helping i"m sure!
