Peanut Shell or Hotsling?

I never used one with Hannah but now that I will have 2 so close in age I thought I'd give a sling a try this time. Which do you recommend/prefer and why?

 Thanks!

  • Oh and I am reading reviews on babywearer but thought I'd check here too!

  • Peanut Shell. I think I selected it based on the style/color. So easy to use, just slip it on, put the baby inside and go. No adjusting or anything. Cheap too, less than $50.
  • I think I would have loved my hotsling, but J was just too big and he was squished in it.

I bought a baby hawk and he loves it.

  • I used a Peanut Shell and it was a life saver for a mom who's kid hated the stroller, car seat, etc.  It was the only way I could get out of the house.  She didn't like it until about 2 mos old because she kind of fell too deep into, but at 2 mos she'd sleep in there while I went to the mall, walked the beach, etc.
  • Check out ocbabywearers on yahoo groups.  I would recommend coming and trying out different carriers to see what works well for you and ultimately what baby likes.  I started with ring slings, but they never really worked well for us until DD was much older.  We've never been comfortable in pouches.  I did best with wraps, mei tais, and soft-structured carriers.
  • I was inthe same boat with why I wanted to try the sling having two under two.  I got the peanut shell and used it when J was about 2 weeks, I haven't tried it since because everytime I out him in, he was sunkin in.  I also had a hard time putting him in there without feeling like I was hurting him.  I have to try it now that he is bigger abd not so fragile. Hopefully it is better
  • i love my balboa baby adjustable sling. it's recommended by dr. sears and our little girl instantly calms down when i put her in it. it's really comfortable because it's padded on the shoulder strap. it's adjustable, so you don't have to buy a certain size. your baby can lay in it, sit on your hip, sit facing towards you, or facing forward.
