Nick names for Landon?

DH is worried if we name our son Landon that people would call him "Don". Which I personally don't think so...

So my question to you ladies is if you know a Landon IRL what is his nick name? OR if you don't what do you think a possible nick name would be?

Re: Nick names for Landon?

  • I doubt people would call him Don... That would be the same reasoning that if you named a baby Shannon, people would call her Non. It's just...not a nickname for that name.

I haven't heard any nicknames for Landon. This was one of our top boy choices and I liked that it was unlikely to be shortened.

  • I know a couple Landons and neither have nicknames.  It's just plain Landon, which I love btw:)

I definately don't think he will be called "Don".

  • I like the name Landon and I can't think of any nicknames for it. I wouldn't have even thought of Don.
  • I can see Lanny and Lan (because people love saying the first syllable of a name) before I can see Don. DS is Austin and believe it or not he has been called "Aus." LOL.

Anyway, I can't imagine Don as a nickname for Landon at all. Esp. since Landon sounds like Landin so Don just wouldn't make sense.

  • Nick names bother the hell out of me. If someone tries to call your son anything else (lanny, don, etc) just politely correct them and say "His name is Landon." End of story. Big Smile

  • My nephew is Landon and he has no 'nicknames' as such - he has names that have come from us that make no sense and aren't shortened from Landon. Sometimes I call him Lan the man but that is not something anyone else calls him :)

  • I have not heard any shortened nicknames for Landon, but I once new a little boy named Landon and his family sometimes called him Lando Commando. Ha! But, I would never worry about Don
  • I dont think they will use Don as nn, but I cant really think of a nn for Landon??

  • I agree with you, I dont think people will call him Don.  I actually have never heard of a nn for Landon.
  • Landy... it's my FIL's nickname for Landon.
  • If I knew a Landon, I would just call him Landon. ?No nickname comes to mind right off the bat.

My name is Shannon, and no one has ever called me Non! Smile

If anything, the NN for Landon would be Lan, I'd think. (And nobody calls me Shan, either!)

  • My brother is Landon and he doesn't have a nn.  When he was little, we'd call him Lan-man on occasion.  Very rarely though.
  • After reading through these, I can say that we've also called my brother Lanny and Lando Commando.  Again, not enough to call them nicknames though.  Just once in a great while.

  • I knew a Landon but never heard of any nn's.
Mom to an almost 4 y/o and an almost 2 y/o. In process of growing our family through adoption.
  • I know 2 Landon's and I've never heard either of them called anything but Landon.  I do not think Don would be a nickname.
