CD sizing for newborn

My baby is estimated to be 8+lbs. I am looking at thirsties fab fitted CD's for newborns, and the sizing goes up to 12lbs.(xsmall)

How long did you you xsmall?

i think we used thirsties xs covers until DS was about 12 lbs, i would assume their sizing is similar across CD types.

my DS was estimated at 9+. he was 6. we started CD on day 5. he wore XS for 15 weeks (~12-13lbs). his Thirsties actually fit him till ~20 weeks. (we used AIOs)

DS is now about 11 1/2 lbs, and the thirsties fab fitteds and covers seem to be getting too short in the rise. the waist on the covers is still ok, but the FFs are as far let out as the velcro will go. He is 3 1/2 mos.

DD was 8lb1oz at birth, and she could wear small Fuzzi Bunz by 2 weeks. I also had infant sized prefolds rather than newborn ones. The only newborn sized things I bought were diaper covers and she wore those for maybe 6 weeks.
