We had the best family outing today!

Today was they day that Katy finally got her reward for being fully potty trained.  She has been, since before Thanksgiving, but with the holidays, we just couldn't fit it in.

So today was the day we finally went to splash village (at Frankenmouth, for you Michigan girls).  It was one of those indoor water parks and the 84 degrees was just what the doctor ordered after 7 straight days of temps in the teens!  Katy had the time of her life and she was just so proud, telling everyone she was at Splash Village because she could keep her underpants dry.  (Yeah, we got some odd looks over that!)  And I can tell you, Katy is 100% potty trained because she got out of the pool 3 times to use the potty.

For anyone looking for a PT bribe, I highly recommend a splash park!  PT was only going so-so until we told Katy we would take her to splash village if she could fill up the whole calendar with stickers (meaning no accidents.)  From that day on (over 3 months ago) she has not had a single accident.  Each week we would look up the splash village website so she would remember what we were working for.  I also called splash village and had them send her pictures of the park with a note telling DD to keep up the good work and telling her they hoped they would see her soon.

What a great day for all of us, today!

  • That's great!  And I think it's hilarious that you had the park send her pictures with a note, but whatever works. =)

  • How fun!  I used to work in Birch Run for the outlet mall, so I have been to splash village many a time.  I am glad your DD had such a great experience!

  • The real question is ... did you stay for the chicken dinner????  Wink

I wish that would work on DS!  I have the Chuck E. Cheese potty chart on our fridge and we will go when he gets 2 weeks filled with stickers.  It's been up since the beginning of December.  Angry

  • Sounds fun.  I think the hunting widows and the children  in our family are going to go there for a weekend in November this year.  I think it will be so much fun.
