I should have introduced myself

Hello ladies. I should have introduced myself instead of just posting a question. I'm thinking it's time to start posting on this board and pick some brains.

I'm only 16w but am looking forward to a "crunchy" mommyhood. We are already planning on birthing medfree with a midwife, breastfeeding, babywearing, making our own baby food, co-sleeping (at least initially), and are big supporters of natural/wood toys. I am still trying to convince DH that CD is the way to go.

Anyway, hello!

Re: I should have introduced myself

  • Hi...I'm not a regular poster on here yet. I'm "going crunchy" though.

Anyway, I remember seeing you on BOTB and other boards like that back when I was TTC. It's so great to see that you're expecting!! Congrats!

  • I lurked on BOTB pre-pregnancy and I recognize you. I don't post here a ton, but these ladies are really sweet and helpful. Let them talk to you about CDing, they'll help you convince your DH! We didn't start CDing until she was a few months old and just started fulltime CDing this week. So even if it takes time to convince him... better late than never!

  • Welcome! And CONGRATULATIONS!?
  • The problem is he and his ex-wife tried to CD with my SS. That was 19 years ago and I know CDing has changed. I am leaning towards prefolds though so he may think it's exactly the same.

well, they have snappi's now, so you don't have to use pins.

i'm not sure what else is different... there are covers made with velcro and most people use a dry pail to keep their soiled dipes in.

let us know if you have any more questions.

i remember you from BOTB, too and i'm so glad to see you're expecting!

  • I was on the botb board quite a bit a while ago and am super excited to see your pg, Congrats big time!!

My ds is 9 and things have changed since even then so 19yrs ago things were certainly different. PF are cheap so even if you don't like it then you can just sell them or use as burp rags. Just dont let him think the gerber ones are the end of the line.. I would get a few of the green mountain ones so he can see how nice they are.

I've been eyeing the GM PF for a couple weeks and was planning on avoiding the Gerbers all together.
