I just got back from my in person orientation and it was GREAT. There were so many couples there and I was just nervous, but it was great. I've learned so much and I know that I have so many more steps to take and more waiting, but I'm happy. They talked about everything. The legal aspects, the financial stuff and everything. I thought it was going to be overwhelming, but it wasn't but was at the same time. So, now I just have to finish my application and send my 25% fee and then I'll be in. Easier said than done of course, but I'm working on it. I feel so much better that I went to the face to face orientation. Sorry for all the rambling...I just needed to get it all out!

Mrs. J, it's a domestic infant adoption. We didn't really HAVE to have one and we weren't going to go, but I'm so glad we did. They really sat down with us and explained the process to us and now we know everything to expect. It was a really really good experience. I'm not as afraid anymore.

That's great! There are so many questions I would have asked if we had the opportunity to go to an orientation. We are also doing a domestic infant adoption (hopefully) if the birthmother doesn't change her mind. Congrats and good luck!
