How do you do compression/massage while pumping - without that farting noise?

I can't do compression/massage while pumping without breaking suction - hence - the farting noise as the flange slips away from my boob mid-pump.  Am I just dumb?   What am I missing here?

I had that problem until I went up a flange size, Lucy, which turned out to be waaaaaaay more comfortable for me anyway.

butting in here, is there a flange larger than the 27mm, I've already gone up from 24 to 27, but still very sore after pumping...

also- its easier if you are pumping handsfree while doing the compressions. you can use an old sports bra and cut slits. compressions seem to work better if the flanges are being held into place already.

I don't really massage, I use one or two fingers and press on different ducts till I see more milk coming out, then I stay on that one till it stops and I move to another one. I don't press all that hard. Sometimes this happens to me, but not often.

I only break suction if I compress too close to my nipple.  I generally stay farther back on my breast.  Not sure if I'm doing them right, but that's how I do it.
