My mom said she really understands now where I'm coming from

I posted yesterday how MIL blamed me for Chris' delays and how my mom told me I didn't work enough with him.  I guess she talked to friends of hers who told her to back off.  My sister was born with a cleft palate and cleft lip and she said she did exactly what I am doing now, blaming myself for Chris' issues.  And instead of placing blame I need to refocus my energy into getting him the help he needs and she can see that I'm doing all that I can to do that.  I told her that I've been reading books on language development/EI/autism (kinda let that one slip, huh?) and trying to work with him until we get the therapies set up to get him more up to speed.  She told me that I'm doing all that I can for him and she understands how hard it is to dwell on the shoulda, coulda, woulda and not on what needs to be done now.  SHE FINALLY GOT IT!
