Don't you sometimes wish babies could just tell you what's bothering them? It's so hard to guess and hope you're doing the right thing. It makes me so sad to hear him crying so hard.
The first thing the pedi asked me was if he arched his back and cried when I laid him down on his back for naps or nighttime. He will arch his back and cry regardless of whether or not he's on his back. He started doing this around 3 weeks. At first I thought it was the formula but he started doing it just before we started suplementing formula. He'll do it after nursing and after having a bottle.. it never seems to matter which he ate. I couldn't really answer the pedi's question because I have a really hard time putting him down which is an entirely different topic. Typically, he falls asleep on me or in his swing.. I can sometimes get him to go to sleep in his basinette or crib but it takes longer. He will arch his back and scream if he's tummy down on my chest, on his back on my lap, in his swing, being carried etc.. it never seems to matter what his position is.
Tina mentioned in my previous post that hicups were a sign of reflux and also clear spit up. The only time his spit up is clear is after he's been nursed.. when he's formula fed it just looks like formula.. it's off white in color. He does get the hicups quite frequently b
