CD Laundry Question

I want to start prepping DS's NB stash.  Could you recommend some good brands of laundry soap/detergent that are available in stores?  I plan to start with the cheapest, most readily available brands and then move up to one of the more specialized soaps if I need to.

If it matters, my stash consists of GMD pfds and Thirsties covers.

TIA!

Re: CD Laundry Question

  • I used Purex Free & Clear until we switched to Crunchy Clean.

  • Thanks.

Would you mind sharing why you switched brands?  Was there a problem with the diapers or a sore bum or something?

  • I was lured in by the CC scents!?

  • Yeah, I didn't really have any issues, but I only used it for a few weeks maybe. I was afraid we might have some issues down the road though. CC (at least the diaper version) is made specifically for CDs, plus it smells yummy AND is eco-friendly. I couldn't resist the switch ;) We use it for all our laundry now and love it.

HAHA...Well I'm glad to at least know that you didn't switch due to a major problem!   Enjoy your yummy smelling dipes!  Smile

  • We use Ecos. I buy it at Kroger or at my natural foods store.

We used to use Charlie's but I think it gave Ethan a really really really bad contact rash. Ouchie!

I'm thinking about switching to CC soon, though!

  • Hmmm...CC does have some really great looking scents!  It's tempting!  LOL

Is CC one of the brands that requires you to wash all your laundry in it?  I've heard that Charlies Soap "flushes out" buildup in your washing machine and that it, therefore, has to be used for all the laundry in the house.  Is this the case with CC?

Yeah, we had no problems with Planet. ?But, man, it is SO much easier to wash diapers when you get to smell baby bee CC!

  • Also, is CC compatible with he front-loading washers?
  • CC is HE compatible.

And I don't think it's one that you have to wash all of your stuff with it. But you  might just decide to b/c it works so well and smells so good :) That's what we did.

  • I don't wash all of my clothes in CC, just the diapers and I have no problems. ?I have an old fashioned, energy sucking top loader though. ?=(

  • We use Allen's Naturally and like it just fine, but we'll be switching to CC when it's gone. I wish it'd hurry up and get used already!

Good to know.  I might just consider prepping the diapers with the stuff from the grocery store and then switching over to CC after DS is here...Something to consider!

    Thanks again!
