The best part is that she is 22 (I think, maybe still 21), childless and says she never wants kids.
I was telling another coworker(mom of 2) and the 22 yo about my trip to the mall with DD last night, and how DD refused to try on any new shoes. 22yo thought I should have "made her" and that I should have told her she was going to sit her butt down on the chair and try on the shoes. Umm, ok. I laughed at her and told her to wait until she has a 2 yo. I brought it up to a friend later (I needed some support), and 22yo says she thinks I should have punished DD. Umm, time-out at the mall? For not wanting to get new shoes? I don't think that would work.
Even though I laughed, it still pissed me off. I usually avoid talking to her (22yo) because of her judgemental, egocentric attitude, and I see that I need to continue to do that.
Re: I told a DD story to a woman at work, and she tried to tell me how to raise my kid.
Sounds like she is the one who needs to be punished.
Maybe you could give HER a time-out until she learns how to stop being so ignorant about how toddlers are... say 1 hour for every year of her age... how does that sound?
In my bag: Nikon D90; 35mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8 macro (my fave), Lensbaby Composer with macro extensions. BFP after 13 cycles and one ectopic. Lost left tube 5/19/10.
I dunno...I would probably make J try them on. There are just sometimes when I need to get stuff done and not have to make a second trip.
