I just got back from Schlotzskys and I had a turkey sandwich. Now I am wondering if that is considered "deli meat" that I am suppose to avoid? And if the sandwich was toasted, is that considered heating up the meat enough to kill the bacteria? I was SO hungry that I did not even think about it until I was half-way done eating.
Thanks!
Re: Schlotzskys and deli meat?
I am probably not the best person to answer, because I have had non heated deli meat both pregnancies, not every day, but I have on occasion.
Anyway- to answer your question. Yes, that would be considered deli meat. Anytime I have ever had a Schlotzskys sandwich the meat itself has always been warm, so yes I think that would be considered heating the meat.

Good to know! I forgot to ask my OB about this the last time I was in there. I am not a huge fan of sandwiches in the first place, but every now and then, I like a nice toasted sub.
