I saw your post below about the milk transition and wanted to tell you I am in the same boat. It has been so stressful this week! The best my DD has done so far was yesterday when she drank 11 oz of milk for the day. The previous days it had been like 6 - 7 ozs. Today through lunch we are at a whopping 3.5 oz for the day. It has been such a struggle. My DD loves the sippy cup and has been on it since 6 months, but for some reason she hated it with formula in it and doesn't appear to be too fond of milk in it either. I feel like it's a constant struggle to get her to drink it! We offer water in between meals and sometimes she guzzles it down and other times she acts like she hates her sippy now. Basically, just wanted to say that I can totally relate and I hope it gets better for both of us!
Re: **Dec31stBride**
I'm curious to hear what the pedi has to say next week. When I called for advice prior to the switch, they told me just to start using milk whenever I ran out of formula (I guess they're pretty laid back). I never did the whole mixing thing. DH and I had one argument over dropping bottles after he decided to go to sippy cup only one morning (needless to say, I didn't get my sleeping in day because DS was very cranky that morning), but then we gave him a bottle with milk one night because he was whiney and he didn't even drink it. He was whining because he wanted to go to bed. We haven't offered a bottle since.
Like I said in one reply earlier, he is doing much better now. He actually points to the fridge and says "ilk!" now. I doubt he drinks much more than 8-10 oz a day, but he is eating yogurt and cheese for snacks. he doesn't seem to be dehydrated either, so I'm not worrying.
Also, DS has changed his taste in sippy cups. he was really digging the soft spout sippy with water for awhile. Now he prefers the ones that are more like regular cups. He can drink out of a regular cup without the spout, but it does make a mess. I think he just wants to be more like a big boy now. Sigh....he's moving to the toddler room at daycare on Feb 2nd. He'll be sitting in a regular (kid-sized) chair for meals and sleeping in a cot. I can't believe he's gone from a little helpless blob to this in a year!
