Anyone here interested in couponing?

Hi, I'm Jen and I run a coupon thread (post I guess you call it) on another forum.  We lost some features when our board was changed and we were looking for a new home.  I was wondering if there was interest here.

As mom's we are always looking for a bargain and deals and sales so I thought the parenting board would be a good place.

Would anyone here be interested?

Re: Anyone here interested in couponing?

  • Hiya everyone...

I'm part of Jen's group. I'm just testing. I love to coupon as well and love to help families save money.

  • YOu have 1 and 2 posts...quit spaming.

  • Wow, not the welcome I expected.  We are not spamming and are truly looking at this board for its features.

Doesn't everyone have to start posting and therefore only have one or 2 posts?

I'm confused, is this question, are you interested in couponing?, not permitted here?  I've seen many posts asking about where to find this or a good deal on something, it seemed an appropriate place.

We both particpate and run a coupon thread on babycenter.com and they just recently changed their boards and we lost a lot of features we liked.  We have been looking for a new place and have been trying out other boards features.

We like the look of this board, it's busy (as is our coupon thread- we have over 2000 women that post and lurk and really are amazing at looking for deals) and the board seems to have features we like.

The only thing we aren't sure about is thread memory, like if you post something and then people post after you, will it take you where you left off?

Again, I am not spamming and we are genuinely interested in posting on this board.

  • You may want to post this on the coupon codes board.
  • Since I am one of the founding moderators of Hotcouponworld, I am going to have to say that I'll stay there.

  • Coupon codes does not really fit.

We are a group of parents, some still trying to become parents, who talk deals, coupons, and life in general.

HCW is great, but all deal related with very little OT.  As moms we sometimes bounce things off of each other in our thread such as terrible 2 issues or sleeping issues.  We also share recipes, books we read and just about anything else.

Our threads each week are ~1500 posts long, so we are a busy group, hence the reason we were looking for thread memory.

It's time consuming to page through many many posts to get to where you left off.  That is the one major feature we lost when babycenter changed formats.

But wow, OK, not feeling much love here, LOL.

  • OK, the money matters board I just found answered my question (on thenest.com)

    no thread memory.

  • Are you sure that you've been to HCW? There is a ton of OT. Trust me.

We have a family forum for discussions on parenting, finance forums, book clubs, recipe forums and just about everything else.

And if you are looking for a board where you can search old threads, you're gonna have to keep looking. The Nest/Bump is NOT it. The search function bites.

  • Yes I frequent HCW often, as do most of the women on my board.  I'm lillukesmom on there.

But someone on the moneymatters board on thenest.com just told me that they have no workable search also, so bummer, that would not work for us.  At first glance this board looked great, but now seeing some of the features it likely won't be better than what we have now, although we really like the look of the board, it's similar to how baby center posts look.

I realize that HCW has OT as does SD's and many other bargain specific forums, but we were specifically looking for a parenting forum.

Our participation has really grown over the year + that I have started leading the group and we have attracted moms from their birth boards to moms from their infertility boards etc.  We like having that option to attract people who many not have originally been interested in couponing or bargains, but find themselves now looking for ways to save.

    Thanks for your input AnnapolisLari
