TMI Ahead - Cramping and Other Stuff

I barely slept last night - I had definate STRONG Aunt Flo like cramping that came in waves.  I didn't ever get up to time it or anything...it just didn't feel strong enough to be something to worry about - it just hurts like a bad period.  I mean, damn, it hurt, but not like I'm expecting actual contractions to hurt.

And I pee about every two hours all night long - but this mornings, there was definately a bit of brownish/reddish "show"....I'm not sure if that was my MP or something else.

But things seem to be progressing....I'm hoping on my Friday appointment I've made TONS of progress!

Re: TMI Ahead - Cramping and Other Stuff

  • You're definitely getting close!!  Are you still cramping?  If changing positions or activity doesn't make the cramping/contractions go away, do call the hospital.  :)

  • You should consider timing the cramps if they continue. ?My experience was probably different because I was induced, but the contractions in the beginning were nothing compared to the ones toward the end. ?They are supposed to intensify as labor progresses.
  • Start timing those contractions! This might be it!! Does the "show" look snotty? That's what mine looked like.My water broke minutes after I lost my mp.
  • They're still here - and not so bad that I can't continue activity through them.  Mr doc said that when they get bad enough that I can't continue through them, then call.

They're pretty constant now, not as wavy, really - so it's harder to time them.

My water hasn't broken yet, though....

  • Wow, so exciting!! It sounds like your baby is coming soon!! I agree with pp that you should try timing them I you can. I had bloody show earlier in the day that he was born, and my water ended up getting broken by the midwife, which I was told was really common, so you might just have to go by how your contractions are feeling. Mine didnt "hurt" until my water broke, and then I hit transition stage almost immediately. You might be surprised how close they are! :) Yay, I am so excited for you, good luck and keep us posted!

  • Contractions for me were never really painful until later on in labor.  So I would time them if you can....sounds like you are getting VERY close!!! I'm SOOO excited for you!!!

  • WOW! Sounds like things are definaltey progressing! All of those are good signs labor may be soon!
Just hope you're not like me and have all those same signs and still need an induction (at 42 weeks)...lol

  • OOh I'm jealous! Sounds like you'll get to meet your LO really soon! Keep us updated!
  • That's so exciting, Heather!!  Next time you could try getting up and moving around and see if that changes anything.  I had cramping twice before I went into labor with DD.  Then one morning I woke up at 6am with strong cramping that came in waves like you said every 10 minutes.  I was like that ALL DAY LONG, even with changing my activity.  By midnight, I was definitely having stronger contractions and went to the hospital by 3am!

I hope you have lots of progress too!
