Postive FFN

As a follow-up to my earlier post.  The high risk dr called tonight.  I got a positive vaginal screen.  He said that it doesn't mean that I will go into labor soon.  He also said that the positive results can also be misleading.  At any rate, I am on "couch potato duty."  We also decided to cancel my shower this weekend since it is a 5 hour drive to it.  I go for my second steroid shot tomorrow.  He said that my OB will probably also check my cervix again.

I'm sorry!  I can tell you I had positive FFN's from 24 weeks on and I delivered at 32 weeks.  Keep your feet up and relax!

I also had positive FFN's starting at 22 weeks and made it to 33 weeks 6 days. Hang in there!

Were you checked internally prior to the FFN?  My ob wouldn't even consider doing a FFN yesterday because I had been checked internally already twice the night before.  She says the having and internal check increases the chances of getting a false positive on a FFN drastically.  So maybe things are hopeful.  Hang in there, drink tons of water and keep those legs elevated!

fingers crossed for you. ?smart idea to cancel your shower. ?there really is no other option. ?stay rested, drink lots of water, never have a full bladder, and don't do the stairs in your house (i was allowed to do the stairs once a day and i was allowed to shower "as needed" and i had to sit in the shower). ?i was on bedrest for 7 weeks and it made all the difference in the world for my babies. ?it stinks and it's frustrating, but it works. ?i'll say a prayer for a long closed cervix. ?
