My doctor recommended full-time bedrest for at least a month until we can see what my placenta does, and he said very clearly NO WORK. However, if my placenta doesn't move, or if I bleed again, I will be out for the next 4 months.
My STD coverage is great- 100% for 13 weeks, and 66% for the following 13 weeks. Long term disabilty would cover 66% if I needed it. The good thing about all of it is that I am in sales and they calculate my salary based on me making 100% of plan. So even when I am making 66%, it could even out if my territory had a horrible year.
For now, they are holding my territory for me, but they are putting an assistant in my place. This is good news because if I end up back after a month, I didn't want to be "on the bench" in between STD and maternity leave. There are currently several people who are sitting back with no territory assignment, so I'm flattered that they didn't just throw someone in my old territory and will wait it out with me.
Anyway, you may get quite tired of seeing my old mug around here. I'm not very good at sitting around.

Wow, that's incredible about the std, I'm pretty sure mine was only partial pay for 6wks, unless maybe that applied only to delivery, not sure, I guess. And it is great that they're holding your spot for you.
But, so sorry about the bedrest, I hope this works out well, and you're back up and around soon.
Sorry you're on bedrest, but I hope it helps and hope your placenta moves. Sounds like you have a good setup with your job though!
And who knows, I could be joining you on bed rest soon and then we can talk all the time
That's awesome about your company. I hope everything moves and you get to get out of bed. I think I'd be miserable on bedrest but we have to do whats needed for our babies.
well, it's good to hear that you get such great std & ltd if u need it. I really, really hope the placenta moves soon & u don't have any more bleeding!!!
keep us updated - & btw - doubt we'll get tired of seeing your "mug" : o )
Get some good rest this month Erica! I really hope things shift around in there and you can come off bedrest for the duration of your pg.
And yay for good employer benefits!
