RP: for am nesties (Glider)

Do you have a wooden/padded or fully upholstered glider?

What do you and DH like/dislike about it? Are either of you tall?

I'm so torn about which one to get since they're both comfortable for short term sitting. It's the LONG hours in the chair that I'm nervous about.

  • I have both.  I foresee them still staying in the kids rooms for quite some time.
  • Um, so kitty, which do you like better and why?

  • We have this one and love it. It is dark wood with green upholstery

We are still using it for Gina, so it still has many years left. I figure even when the girls are bigger, we will sit in it and read. It's really comfy :)

And no, unfortunately, we are both short

  • My wood one is not that thickly padded but it was a cheap $100 chair from BRU so I'll have to go with the upholstered one as far as comfort.

(Is thickly even a word - that sounded stupid.)

  • I've spent hours at a time in mine (wooden with padding dutailier) with both kids. Just recently I was rockning J back to sleep in the middle of the night and fell asleep in it with him and slept for 4 hours. I was pretty comfy :)

You know what I would've loved in mine... if it locked. Mine is a cheaper model which does not lock and it would've been oh so useful when I spent nights sleeping in it with J when he was sick and did not want to spend more than 5 minutes in his crib.

Edit: Oh, and I've sat in the BestChairs one (similar to what REOM posted) and it was the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. too bad it was over $700 with the ottoman when we were looking at it and it was out of our budget.

  • We have a fully upholstered glider that swivels and I LOVE it!!!  When we are done having kids, it can totally go in the living room and look like a regular chair.  We got it from Room and Board.  My DH is 6ft 4in and I am 5ft 0 in - it fits both of us!!!
