I left my paperwork at my office and I'm not going in today. My appointment is at 10:30 ... is it okay if eat a little something now? I know that the doc told me something about not eating or drinking anything but I don't know how many hours before my appointment she said. TIA!

Thanks! I figured I'd better play it safe and not eat .... but damn I hope I can make it until after 11 ..... I'm already hungry!

If you do end up giving in - do something with protein in it (nuts), so you aren't adding to your sugar.

this seems to be a constant source of controversy. lol! i have had several friends whose doctors told them the *should* eat.

i have also heard to eat, but carefully b/c we shouldn't try to "trick" the test...

I agree with Rayskit10.  Even if you have GD, if you haven't eaten anything your blood sugar would probably appear normal or close to it, unless it is severe.  You need to know if you have GD so you can properly care for it.  I would think eating your typical breakfast would be the best approach.

But that's just my nonprofessional opinion.
