Ring Fits???

Okay here is the back story...

About one month ago, I had to take my ring off to wash my hands. I could hardly get it off, and I could not get it back on, so I left it off. I have periodically tried to put it back on, with no success. (It always makes me self-conscious because old ladies look at my big pregnant belly, then my left hand and scowl at me because they think I'm not married). Today I noticed that my fingers felt really thin when I put my hands together, so I decided to try on my ring. Not only did it go on, but it is loose. I didn't think it was possible to shrink while pregnant...What's up with that? Anyone else experience this odd phenomena??

Re: Ring Fits???

  • I had the same thing happen to me when I was PG. I'm sorry to say that my hands did swell back up a few weeks after they shrunk. I would say that it's just salt and water retention but I'm not sure 100%

And I'm glad I'm not the only one self conscious about the no ring and PG thing. DH never got what my problem was :)

  • I knew it was probably too good to be true, long term. I just want it to fit for my bump photos on Monday. I am glad that I'm not the only one concerned about the PG no ring thing too.. DH thinks that I am imagining it...maybe I am, but I don't think I am. :o)

  • You'd think the old ladies would remember what it was like being pg!

  • I'm glad your ring fits again. If your fingers swell again you could always wear your ring on a chain as a necklace, or go buy a $5 prop ring to wear till after the baby comes. That may be the route I take when the time comes. I can see myself being self conscious as well.
  • It lasted one day...now it is tight again. I am going to have it sized up 1/2 size. It hasn't been loose for a really long time. I was skinny when he proposed, not so much after the wedding. Haha...really not so much now. Oh well, what can you do?!

  • I bought a set a size up at Nordstrom Rack & 4 months after the baby is here I am *still* wearing it.  *sigh*  Told DH that I wanted my real ring sized for Valentine's day if I haven't lost enough weight to wear it again...
