We have been having issues getting Connor to sleep. He starts screaming hysterically as soon as he hits the mattress, but up until two weeks ago he laid right down and went to sleep on his own. We have been rocking him for 30 + minutes and it's just too much. If we let him cry he usually ends up making himself vomit. Today at his 18 month checkup the doctor suggested letting him cry for 30 minutes before ever going in the room to soothe him. Tonight we tried it and wouldn't you know the little booger finally passed out at 27 minutes without vomiting. It was so hard to listen to him scream and I had to twice talk DH out of going in there to rock him. Thank goodness he's asleep now. Hopefully tomorrow won't be quite as hard on any of us.
Re: cio is hard!
I, too, do what BPaullo does; it's very hard! Nothing gets my nerves more frazzled than hearing her cry. I hope that the roughest night is over for you!
Ugh, I agree--it is so hard! It was especially hard with Hannah--she has the most dramatic shreiking cry, it would break me after just a few minutes.
I hope you're through the worst of it!
