Do you ever get texts from strangers?

I never use the text option on my phone, but I've gotten 4 texts this week from a number I don't know.  they are always very generic like "hey, how you doing?" or "what are you up to tonight?"

I would really like to call or text back and tell them they have the wrong number, but part of me is scared that this is some kind of scam I don't know about and calling them back is exactly what they want.

Advice?

Do you not recogize the number?  I never get texts from someone I don't know.

yep - I just delete them.

That happened to me recently...they even had my first name and it was freaking me out.  I texted back and It ended up to be a wrong number.  But I totally was thinking scam, too.

I don't recognize the number.  I have been just deleting them, but they are coming once a day now.

Yes, I got one last week ranting and raving about Jesus and if I didn't forward the text I'd be smote or something like that.

Yes, I actually exchanged a few texts from a stranger. It freaked me out because they said they were with my friend who was drunk and needed help. I thought it was this one specific friend of mine that I would expect that from. Turns out there really was a drunk girl but I didn't know her. The drunk gave the person my phone # by mistake. Ugh.
