DD seems to really like this one bear/security blanket thing. To avoid any issues in the future I am thinking about getting 1-2 more. I can get the exact same one online or the same one but different color(s) in store. Which should I do?
I would get the same exact one. Sarah had a Turtle toy that she LOVED...I bought 3 of them. I've heard horror stories regarding trying to replace a lovie!
crappppppp - M is already attached to something we got as a gift. And knowing the giver, it came from TJMaxx or Goodwill meaning it's going to be hard as crapp to find another.
Hopefully not though - has anyone seen a green frog head attached to a little blanket by Carters lately?
Kat - darn it, but that is not the one we have. I will be on the look-out for that one.
Avery's lovey (a monkey she calls "ee-ah" ) is one H and I bought before we were even married at World Market on clearance for $2.99 for another kid and we never got around to sending it. I don't know how she got attached to him, but I rue the day we lose him.
I'm sure someone wiser will tell me this is child dependent; I would believe that.
We worked on having different transitional objects for different things.
He has a school blanket. Sometimes he likes to take it out of his backpack in the car - he loves it just as much as other things, but it lives in the backpack and goes to school.
He has three night time blankets <indulgence>. He somehow ended up with three and he likes to have them all. I could quit this, but they stay in the bed so it isn't trouble.
Froggy and Elmo hang out in the crib most of the time. They are part of sleep routine. They come downstairs sometimes, but most of the week they "nap" in the crib while he is at school.
Writing this down it sounds complicated. It might be, but we do not have a single object that must be everywhere. That helps spread the importance among several key objects - which helps.
My MIL made Kaley's loveys after she started getting attached to a little blanket. Its worked out well to have a few in the car, crib and bag. If we lose one it isnt a big deal.
OMG - is this some kind of crazy collectors item or something? The one that Alisa posted is the right one, but no way am I paying $29.99 for something from Carters.
Baby Girl is just going to have to get attached to something else!

maddy never attached to anything as a lovey (*i* am her lovey, but <sigh>, i digress...)
but my sister did this as well. my niece had 2 different blankets and 2 different flat stuffed animals she would rotate around. that way she didn't attach to one particular thing. it worked well for her.

As soon as Natalie latched on to a lovey, I asked the gift-giver where she got it and ordered another one.
It looks like this ...
Sorry for the crappy pic but the Wee is asleep with it now and will go batshitcrazy if I remove it from her grubby little claws

Thanks yall - but that's not it. This one is plain green with no writing. I'll keep looking though.
So far, this is just nap time and night night froggy. We put him to bed with her, so maybe it won't get to the "Linus blanket" stage.
If it does, I'm putting a GPS tracker on the thing!
