stupid bank!!!

They keep charging a fee that they are taking out of my checking and messing up my bills.  They pull the fee and all my checks bounce...very annoying and not the first time they have pulled this on me!!  The worst part is that it is supposed to FREE checking!

I think with all the banks in trouble they are trying to scam fees becasue most people dont check and complain. Most just think they are the one who made the mistake.

 Check your statements VERY carefully ladies to avoid fees!!!

Are they double charging you - is that what you're saying?  How long has this been going on?

Not really double charging but charging a fee that should not apply.  It is a sub account on a free one and there are no fees (supposedly).  They did this a few times and we raised hell when it happened last time. I think DH is going to go postal on them and pull our money and find a new bank. What a PITA.

It is an account linked to another account.  We all our accounts linked to move money more easily.  This is 'my' checking. Dh has his checking and we have a joint savings.

I only pretend to understand the complexities myself but the bank always seems to mess up my account.

Perhaps they have a minimum for the "free" checking or other restrictions for it to be free.  I know my bank (credit union) has free checking IF we have our payroll check automatically deposited.  I know some banks have a minimum balance and then they are free.  That would be irritating if they take it out and mess up your checks.  Ours is only like $5 a month so not likely to cause a big problem with checks we write.

GOtcha.  I guess that's what ours is too.  We have the main checking then the savings and any LOC's we could get - makes transfers easier.  Ours is a CU too.  I hate them but it does seem less complicated than other banks.
