Gummy vitamins were too chewy. I could hardly chew them.
Vitamin drops are nasty tasting. I hate to force them down his throat each day and he noticed if I put it in his milk.
We are now trying First Flinstones. Chewable. DS calls them candy but just plays with them at the dinner table. He tries to feed them to me
So how do you encourage your toddler to chew the vitamins? We're thinking we may need to crush them and put them in his yogurt- he is in LOVE with the YoKid tubes. We just graduated from the YoBaby cups, so I'm sure he feels like a big boy ![]()
I guess I wonder if I'm just being impatient and should give it a few more days. Thanks for any tips!
Re: Toddler and vitamins
DS thinks they're candy, so he happily eats them. Can you get the drops and put them in his cup?
I'd say keep trying with the chewables. When my DD first started on them, she at them about 50% of the time and now she eats them most of the time. With a balanced diet, going without a vitamin is o.k.
I wouldn't want my DD thinking vitamins are candy, so that's why we stayed clear of the gummies.
Glad you posted this, I need to get DS some gummy vitamins - he does NOT eat a balanced diet, even though a smorgasbord is arranged in front of him every meal....
my DS loves the gummy vitamins, he gets mad too when I don't give him more than 1. Like pp maybe try different brand, or liquid drops in a drink.

Kind of related, when I was about 6 or 7, I overdosed on the Flintstone vitamins because I thought they tasted like candy too. ?I was taken to the ER & they pumped my stomach. I never did that again. So I can see why kids love them.?
