How the eff does facebook know?

Through enough peer pressure I've opened a facebook profile and the people that have emails show up add them as friends and then another page comes up of mostly nesties (bumpies?) and says you may know these people, choose your friends. ?How the hell does it know I these people? Must be friends of friends....weird. ?

Yeah its like six degrees of separation.  If you know someone and they know some else they you "might" know that person too.  Its strange.

I wish they had a feature where you can friend someone and tell it there is absolutely not a single soul THEY know that you also know.  That Friend Finder gets so annoying to keep up with! lol

I didn't add half of them because I didn't think they'd know my name, only recognize them by pics of their kids. ?You can add me kellig64 at hotmail dot com?

There is a group called something like If the Nest shall die at least we'd have each other.  I looked it up and saw a few people I knew like Brewster but did not want to add anyone b/c I felt like a stalker, lol.

edit: the friend finder is def. annoying. I had a h.s. friend send me a suggestion for another classmate. Yeah, that suggested friend and I had a falling out our first semester of college and haven't been friends in 10 yrs.
