Puyallup Dr Recs?

I know there are a few Puyallup area bumpies around, so I thought I'd ask and see if you gals can recommend a good OB/GYN?  I tried a new doctor last week for my yearly, but wasn't too sure how I felt about him.  Also, I told him that DH and I have been ttc since April of last year and he said that he would wait 18 months before doing any tests instead of the normal 1 year.  So I'm thinking if we aren't pg by April I'd like to go talk to another doctor.

  • I dont have any rec's for you, but I agree that waiting 18 months is a bit excessive!   That would make me want to change docs too...

  • The Good Sam Women's Center has 6 practicing OB/GYN doctors who all deliver at good sam hospital.

Mine was Sam Song, and I ended up really liking her.

Also, Dr. Wong, and Dr. McCalister (sp)  have also been recommended to me by friends.

Dr. Mitchell (the only man in the practice, I believe) was on call while I was in labor, I do not recommend going to him.

They have a sunrise office as well as one down town by the hospital.

  • Oh boy...where do I begin?? I used to work at Good Sam (when I was younger) and I grew up wanted to be an OB so I kinda "researched" my Puyallup doctors when I became pregnant with Jacob and with all my friends who have delivered there I can pretty much tell you who has a good rep and who doesnt..lol

I had Dr. McAllister, most people I know dont like her, she's partered up with Dr, Wong, Dr, Song, Dr, Majors and Dr Mitchell all which I have heard GREAT things about.(Dr. Majors and Dr Wong did my c/s) Dr McAllister doesnt have the outgoing personality that a lot of women want. I liked her but I do see what they are talking about.

Do you want a man or woman??

Dr. Majors and Mitchell are both men

Dr Taggart is VERY GOOD but extremely popular...seriously I know 14 girls that go to him...very personable, outgoing and hilarious, he's with Sound Family Medicine

Dr. Morris is supposed to be very good too..I know a couple of nesties have her and enjoy going to her..

Dr. Edstrom is a little older and fairly popular but is also quite conservative but the few girls I know that go to him are very comfortable with him

There is also Dr. Michaelsen, I only know 2 girls that have gone to him...I dont know much about him but I havent heard anything bad about him

I have not heard great things about Dr. Eurn (Paul)

  • Thanks so much ladies!  This was exactly the information I was looking for =)  Dr Michaelson was the doctor I saw last week, and a year before that I saw Dr Mitchell for a yearly.  DH thinks I should go to a female next time, although I have no personal preference.

I think I may print this out and keep it for my records for the next time I make an appointment!

    Seattle nesties rock!
