This is my second pregnancy and I know that showing sooner is normal, but I'm only 9 weeks along and I'd say I look close to what I was at 18 weeks with my 1st baby. It doesn't appear to be bloat either, it really seems like it's all uterus... so in the back of my head I'm wondering if maybe there's more than 1 in there. I'll go for an ultrasound at 12 weeks, but until then I wanted to ask if showing soon tipped anyone else off that they were carrying multiples? Thanks!
Re: Did showing soon make you think maybe it's multiples?
Not only was I all baby and big very early on, I was puking to the point where Zofran wasn't all that helpful and I was beyond tired. This was 2nd pregnancy so I knew it was not "normal."
I told everyone that I thought I was having twins. I didn't have an u/s until 17 weeks - and there were 3 babies in there.
I found out really early before I started showing, but that being said. From what I've seen on this board, every person is different so its hard to tell if its just how your body is reacting to this pregnancy or not. I still haven't gotten a stranger comment and feel like I am just starting to look pregnant in some shirts and I'm almost 19 weeks.
But if it does turn out to be twins, be sure to come stop by here!
Nope. In fact I asked my OB to double check at 16W that there was only one because two of my friends were having twins. She said that because I wasn't even showing yet that there was no way I had more than one in there.
4 weeks later I got a huge surprise at my big U/S.
i knew it was twins at 5w b/c we had an US... with my DS, my first pg - i was showing very early, too- i always knew he was a singleton (b/c i had USs at 5/6/7/8w).
even at 9w with twins your uterus really isn't that high up - so twins or not it's probably mostly bloat this early on.
