As ds is getting older I find I'll ;let him play alone more. But I feel guilty doing do so. Like we should be interacting ands I should provide stimulation all day long. I know he needs to learn to spend time alone but I feel guilty
When in the house - 100% of the time. When out of the house (playdates, playspaces, park, etc.) - maybe 15% of the time?
He is not into independent play at home. I have to be next to him and actively playing with him all the time. When we go out he runs off to play with his friends or run around the park without even a backwards glance at me - lol.
I yearn for 15 minutes of independent play at home. Just 15 minutes...

Well, DS plays independently very well, and I often feel guilty for letting him do so, but he likes it. Much of his day is spent pushing his car, tonka trucks, lawn mower, etc. around the house. I can't really join in that play. I do try to do puzzles with him a few times a day and try to read books a few different times as well.

ditto this. N has NO independent play skills! I can't even take 5 minutes to unload the dishwasher or run to the bathroom without him tagging along.

DD is in daycare during the week, but on weekends and evenings I would say it is about 50% independent play, and 50% interaction with me or DD (either playing, or reading, or helping with dinner, etc)
