I feel kind of bad, I just put Avery down for a nap without lunch. Oh, she had a perfectly fine lunch on her plate and had taken a few bites, but then got mad that I wasn't cubing cheese fast enough so she threw her whole plate on the ground and started screaming. I took her out, washed her hands and put her in her crib. She cried for about 5 minutes and passed out cold.
I know she'll wake up hungry and I'll feed her again. In the meantime, her dogs are full of sausage, potatoes, grapes and cheese.

Re: Mom of the Year Right Here
I would say don't feel bad (bc you shouldn't) but I know I always feel bad about that, too. I hate to put him down for a nap without his lunch, but sometimes they just need it!
hell. if truitt refuses to eat or throws a tantrum about his lunch and it ends up on the floor, he goes without. maybe i am too stern about this type of stuff (and i know ppl think i am all AP and that AP parents don't discipline their kids... yadda yadda) but i do not give in to tantrums. ever. that boy has been in time out in the middle of Whole Foods, Borders and about every restaurant in the Heights.
he has taken his nap without lunch more than once. sometimes it's b/c of a fit, but sometimes he just won't eat and i am not going to force him. the one time i coerced him to take a few more bites than he wanted to he gagged and threw up half of his lunch so i have also learned to trust him when he says he's done.
toddlers know when they want to eat and they also can go without. it's not like A is a newborn crying for a bottle and you're refusing to give it to her... you don't have anything to feel bad about. imo, you did the right thing!
if she was really hungry she would have eaten. I wish I had the toddler capability of only eating when hungry and not just because I'm bored. I agree you did the right thing. tantrum=tired around here, she probably would have stayed up screaming if she was hungry.
