anyone watching principals office?

This poor kid he got called down for leaving class early.  He is a good kid and very smart.  Poor kid is crying and the principal is trying to tell him its ok he isnt in big trouble.  He just keeps saying I want to be a good kid I want to be an engineer.  This is the 1st time he ever got in trouble.  I couldnt be a principal.

I've seen that one. Being a hs teacher, I don't care if the kid is a good kid or not, in hs the student doesn't get to decide when class is over. Plus, all kids are going to try their hardest to get out of trouble. If he hadn't gotten caught, he wouldn't be crying; he'd be bragging to other people about how he got away with it, and I bet you anything he'd do it again. I used to be sympathetic, but after 8 years of it, you get tired of the excuses and the attitudes. I'm pretty sure that's how principals are able to hand out punishments.
