Yes, helpful. I would go with the mac-n-cheese or some cheesy potatoes. (I do the cheesy potatoes all the time with a ham. Everyone in my house loves them!)
Mini dinner rolls that are soft so parents can make sandwiches out of them. Serve a couple different mustards for the adults. Maybe a honey mustard, a spicy honey mustard, a dijon mustard, and a regular mustard. Serve grapes and apple slices for the kids. Maybe place a bowl full of Amy's organic cheddar bunnies (similar to Goldfish).
Something different (if you're up to it) would be to do sliced ham sandwiches on dollar buns (and get a sliced deli tray of cheese to go on it) and then do two soups. If you have two crock-pots, great, otherwise you can do one on the stove and one in the crock. I think a cream of chicken & wild rice would be good and then a vegetable soup as well, maybe putting cheese ravioli in that soup? The kids would really like that, I bet.
Then people could dip sandwiches in soup and you have a meat and a veggie option. If you do the soups, then just keep the sides simple, cut veggies, assorted chips, dips, & crackers.
If you don't do the soups, I would do something else like side dishes of au gratin potatoes, bean dishes, a layered salad w/ veggies in addition to the kid-friendly cut veggies, chips & crackers.
If you need more ideas, let me know. Since you're starting with baked ham and that's so homey and traditional, I think you should continue with the comfort foods. Is the party coming up when it's still cold? Good luck!
I think Piper's got you covered:) I was going to say something like cheesy potatoes and a salad, along with a fruit tray and maybe a cheese/cracker tray. And of course dessert. I always like doing something in addition to the bday cake (maybe b/c I'm not a huge fan of cake). I'd do a platter of bars or cookies.
Re: help with menu?
Slices of cheese or even string cheese would go with it.
Wheat thins or something similar.
Are you feeding adults and children? How many of each? Did you bake and slice the ham or are you serving a deli tray?
a little more info would be helpful, huh??!
The party is for 22 adults, 6 children. (2 4yrs olds, 2 2 yr olds, 2 babies).
I am baking a ham and slicing it.
That's what I'm talking about

I would personally have 2 meat choices... some people dont eat pork...
I would do sliced cheese a veggie tray, and a few dips like a 7 layer dip, a cheese style dip and a veggie dip...
Okay, so how does this sound:
baked ham, cheese, buns and condiments
brocolli cauliflower salad
baked beans
chips/pretzels/cheese curls
fruit tray
mac n cheese bake
cheesey baked potatoe soup
cake & icecream
maybe another dessert (depends on budget?)
Whatta you think?
That sounds delicious! I didn't even think of a baked potato soup, that would be so great with ham. I want to come to your party
