Do DH drives a Nissan Altima and I have a Toyota Celica. Ideally, I would like to trade mine in for something else - with 4 doors. However, financially that is not in the cards for us at this time (It is paid off and we cannot afford to take on a car payment until we can see how everything is going to go with new baby expenses)
So - starting in February we are going to switch cars - DH is going to take my girly car and I will get the Altima - which is more family friendly. However, I would like to have the option of using the Celica in case of emergency, so I registered for an extra carseat base to keep in there.
So my question - Does any have a Celica or know someone with one? I would like to know their experiences and to know if a carseat will even fit!
Re: Small car question
we just purchased a 2008 jeep liberty from enterprise (i had a suzuki forenza and we needed something bigger and safer!) they gave me 5oo above kelly blue book value for my cars trade in and 1,000 off of their already below kbb value for the jeep... they also hooked me up with a credit union which alowed me to get an even lower interest rate than what the banks would have given me (6.4%!!!!)
if they rent it you can buy it basically- i would suggest considering it!
I love my Celica - but DH calls it a "Chick Car" and does not look forward to driving it.
Don't bother with an extra base. You can fasten the infant seat in with the seat belt if necessary.

Check out CarSeatData.org - plug in you car's year, make and model and the car seat info it will pull up reviews for people who have the same car and seat.
Looks like not much there for the Celica, but there is someone with a 2001 and a Graco Snugride - says installation was "very difficult" but the fit is "Good".
Thanks - this was really helpful!
