Confession:

I bought the dollar tree version of scrubbing bubbles.  I couldn't take it anymore!  I've tried every EF, homemade tub cleanner I could find or make, and the tub was back to gross in less than 2 days.  Scrubbing bubbles keep it clean for week, at least.

I don't know if it's the finish on my tub, my water, or what.

Re: Confession:

  • if its what works and keeps you sane its what you have to do. all the other changes you have made are incredibly helpful-be proud of those!

and maybe rinse the tub out extra extra good after cleaning to try and get out the residue Big Smile

  • Have you tried Method?
  • I stopped using Kaboom which use to be the only thing that would keep my tub and shower clean, and I bought Method, which I didn't love.  Now, I have the easiest MO ever and it rocks!  First, I don't know what kind of tub/shower you have but our tub is enamel finish and our shower is tiled.  I scrubbed the tub out with borax and water and a little elbow grease and it worked fantastically.  Then I used hot vinegar and scrub brush to cut through the hard water/soap scum buildup on the shower.  After you do this deep cleaning, it's all maintenance with a cheap $1 squeegee and an occasional plain vinegar scrub.  I swear, this thing is my best friend!!!  After every shower, DH and I quickly squeegee down the walls and tub, takes about 30 seconds.  I'm telling you, it is amazing how clean it stays now.  No buildup or nastiness whatsoever, and my shower and tub used to stay squeaky clean for only a week at most.  Try the squeegee, I'm telling you.

  • Bleach is the only thing that keeps the mildew out of all the sandy grout in our tub/shower. You gotta do what you gotta do.

  • I am in love with Method "LE SCRUB" (non-toxic clean planet friendly gently abrasive scrub cleanser--- yes I went and got the container to get the exact info!) in Eucalyptus Mint scent. I got it fron Target. It smells a lot like a Pine Fir tree!!!!! Awesomest stuff ever! Yes

  • I swear by the Dr. Bronners, Baking Soda, and Vinegar mixture, and have converted family and friends too.  Our shower enclosure is that vinyl stuff though.  Nothing non-ef has worked as well as this for us, and it smells heavenly too!
