Nurseries and Baby Gear

Nursery paint color

We have what I consider a very small 3 bedroom house with two bedrooms upstairs side by side. One is our master bedroom and the other will be the baby's room. I want to re-paint both rooms in the same color to make it easier but am having a lot of difficulty deciding what color to go with. There are just so many possibilities and I get overwhelmed.

The baby is going to be a boy but I don't want to paint the room blue. So far, I have been considering a light goldish color, a sage-ish green or possibly a cream color with one faint blue wall in each room. I would like something neutral but not too dull.

Just reaching out there for some ideas/suggestions.

Re: Nursery paint color

  • I like the green but will you like that color in the non-nursery room?

  • I think it all depends on what color would look good in your bedroom.  I think you could also do the color in the nursery lighter and your bedroom a few shades darker.  Very easy to do after you have picked a color for one.  Just look at the paint swatch and pick a color in the same family.  I am doing this in my nursery bathroom.
  • we used Rich Cream by Benjamin Moore and it is a nice neutral cream with a bit of yellow. there are some pics in my blog under nursery decorations. it is a really warm color but since we will be moving within 2 years we did not want to have to re-paint.
