Poll: Next year's winter coat and snowbib-what would you do?

For this year, I got DD a winter coat and snowsuit from Old Navy.  It's cute, but I hate it because it's so puffy and it's too small.  (DD is stuffed in it now, not sure how we'll make it through the winter!

It is a 2T, DD is 20 months, but has been 90% all along.

I'm looking at the LLBean Katahdin Parkas and bibs (now on sale)

Should I get:

A 3T since they have "let out seams" that can be let out to make it bigger if she gets too big.

or a 4T, with it maybe being a little too big next year, but likely to last another winter (or even 2)

What would you do?

  • I always buy my kids coats at Kohls, they always run big.  DD wears 24 month clothes, 12 month coat.  So based on that I would say buy the 3T.  Maybe ON just runs small.

  • I would do big - you can always roll the cuffs.

  • I find that Old Navy runs small I would get the 4t I would rather it be too big then too small
  • I'd also say get the 4T. ?It seems like most of the size difference between 3T & 4T is in length, not girth, & like pps said you can always roll the sleeves & pants legs. ?FWIW, I found ON's snowsuits sizing to run really small last winter.?
  • I'd go with 3T.  For my DD, I've always found Old Navy to run small.  LL Bean, on the other hand, is more true to size on her.  I'd be concerned that the 4T would be TOO large, and make it harder to play.

Of course, you could always buy both so she can try them on so you can better guage the size, and then return the one you don't need. Smile
