photoshop how to (for people who asked)

BASICALLY how to do the image in my siggy (i'm sure there are tons of ways to do it but this is how i did it)

1. open new file (i made mine 10in wide by 8 inches high so i wouldn't have to stretch it for my book cover)

2. unlock the background layer and fill it in black, then turn the opacity down to about 75% so you can see through it

3. use the text tool to write 2008 and change the font to one you like.  change the color to white or some color beside black

4. merge these layers

5. use the magic wand tool to select the white 2 and clear it (delete it), do the same with all the other numbers

6. go to file and open and find a pic you want to use.

7. crop the picture as tight as you can to the most important part of the image.  then change the image size (ctrl + alt + i)(i did around 150 pixels each).

8. then select all (ctrl + a) and copy (ctrl + c)

9. go back to your main project and paste (ctrl + v) and use the move tool to move it to a good spot in one of your numbers (i did one number at a time until it was full then moved to the next one)

10.  it may be necessary to resize your picture to make it fit best so i use the free transform tool (ctrl + t) because it is most like the tools you use in the simpler programs and you can move it with that too.  when you get it how you like it, double click it to apply the transformation.

11. repeat steps 6-10 until all your numbers are full.

12. when it was all done i saved as a jpeg at high so i could easily use it in the photobook editor.

* feel free to ask clarification questions in this post i will try to offer as much help as i can
