Okay I posted about taking the twins to family friendly restaurants. I freak out because I don't want to upset any diners which is why we do FR.
The last two times we went to:
Bucca Di Beppo - loud family restaurant right? There was a couple with a tween girl. I kept getting looks from the mother - please lady!! My twins are 18 months and considering they were very good. Not loud just short attention span.
Chili's - Friday night (during Happy Hour which is very boisterous) and sat near a couple who had 6+ year old. Granted my son's diaper was wet and I had to go change him. All in all they just wanted to touch the stuff on the table. They weren't loud at all. The man kept staring at them like they were monsters.
Both cases the parents only had ONE child. Plus the fact that their kid was older and already knew how to behave. As parents you'd think people with older children would empathize and remember how they had to go through the same thing.
Re: Do you get looks at restaurants?
i think maybe you are being oversensitive. People are facinated by twins- they were probably just watching you guys to see how you do it- b/c they remember how hard it was with one baby out to dinner, etc.
I would never even think that someone looking over at my child(ren) was doing it b/c they were annoyed.... unless of course- my child was being a terror.
My manager has twins and a toddler and says people always come up to talk to them at restaurants b/c they are facinated that they actually go out with them all and how they manage, etc. I'm sure that is why people are looking at you guys.
We get a lot of looks but I think it's because they are twins. I think people watch to see how we do things but more often than not we have people stop by our table to say how good the boys are!
I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like you are going to appropriate places at appropriate times.
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!

I agree with the other posters about onlookers. We constantly get the stares. We don't go anywhere without comments/compliments-we have never received a rude comment.
Like the "AW-trail" as the hostess is trying to seat you when you pass tables one carseat at a time. But really I am looking forward to when they are older and their twinness is not as transparent, due to size differences.
