Anxiety help

Hi everyone - I’m 16 weeks pregnant and suffering from severe insomnia and anxiety. Before being pregnant I’ve had these issues but not to this extent - over the past week I’ve had many sleepless nights and some nights with an hour or 2. I’ve lost 7 pounds this past week due to not eating.

My psychiatrist prescribed me seraquil and Ativan to take as needed but I know Ativan is not advised usually. My doctors say the risks of taking it outweigh the risks of not taking it.

Has anyone else taken non-ssris like Ativan before either during this pregnancy or priors? I just want to know if people have had healthy babies after taking these pills.

Re: Anxiety help

  • I don’t have experience with that specific medication but here to show solidarity. I had bad anxiety with my first baby’s pregnancy and it was really debilitating. I’m so sorry. It went away as soon as he was born tho.

  • <div>Hi! I completely understand how tough it can be to manage anxiety and insomnia during pregnancy. It’s good that you’re working closely with your doctors. </div><div>
</div><div>Some people also explore non-drug approaches to support mental health and sleep, like mindfulness, guided relaxation, and even Neurofeedback Therapy. This therapy uses a specialized **neurofeedback therapy machine** to help the brain regulate itself, improving focus, mood, and sleep patterns over time. It’s non-invasive and can sometimes complement other treatments safely.  </div><div>

  • Try herbs. I have had severe anxiety attacks and insomnia. A friend suggested relax calm tea, a herbal formula by secrets of tea. this is insane
